Conversation between me and Joni Spigler, Campus ambassador.
Me: Hi Joni, For my midterm assignment for the class I edited the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Administrative_Procedure_Act, The page used to be a stub and only had about three sentences. I added a bit to it. I was wondering if you could give me some advice about the layout of the page and what I can change now to make it better. I also wanted to get the page rated. Would you be able to help with that? I think I'm almost done working with this particular page, because there's not a ton to say about the subject. Before I move on though, I want to make sure the page is in good condition.
Thanks! -Chris Carson
Joni:
Hi Chris -
Sorry, as you might have heard I have been sick all week. It looks like you have added quite a bit to the article and it all looks good! I don't get to grade it because I don't know what your grades are about, but from a wikipedia standard it looks like a nice addition.
Because I am OCD I did change a few words and punctuation, but if you disagree you can edit my changes.
I would say that the Criticism section needs to be wikified - links made - and some references added - there is only one reference for the whole section? Also, are there any notable examples of agencies adopting regulations based on suggestions by regular people?
That's all I can think of right now! I will ask how to get the page rated - but I think that might be the role of the online ambassador.
let me know what else you might need, love, joni
Grade
[edit]Check (as opposed to check plus or check minus). Chris, very glad you took the initiative to talk to Joni. Also, it's great that you started physically editing the article which will definitely make the rest of the semester a lot easier. However, the instructions were to outline the exact changes you wanted to make in addition to providing at least one primary source for the midterm, which is why you were taken down from a check plus to a check. [edit]Hey Chris. You've been making fantastic contributions to the CAPA page, and I'm glad you asked Joni for advice. Before you move on to another page, it would be great if you could do one of the things Joni suggested - to wikify the criticisms section by adding hyperlinks to other pages referenced. But besides that, if you feel you've exhausted all there is to this act, then you could maybe spend tonight and the last few weeks of the class working on another page.
