Alternative

I was unclear why you used a pipe to change the correct "alternative" to the incorrect (though admittedly commonly misused) "alternate"? --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:21, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mel, it was because "[[Alternate history]]" was what was already in the page and it just redirects to Alternative history, which is a disambiguation. I just figured I'd pipe it around the redirect rather than changing the text. I'm planning to go back and see which link off of [[Alternative history]] I want to change that to. (I'm currently working on "Alternative history" to get it off the Disambiguation pages with links list.) Does that help?
