From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Please understand that because Wikipedia's aim is to produce high-quality encyclopedia articles written from a neutral point of view and employing verifiable sources, citing otherwise unpublished material from your personal website is not appropriate (please see Wikipedia:No original research#Citing oneself and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Citing oneself). Naturally, you are free to correct grammatical errors and to remove inaccuracies and poorly-sourced information, especially when the information may be controversial and involves a living person (please see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for more information). But please do not remove material from articles only to replace it with information sourced from your own website, especially when that material that has not previously been published in a reliable source. Please see Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources for more information on evaluating the merits of sources.

Please do not attempt to assert ownership of articles. On your user page, you appear to attempting to set conditions under which editors are permitted to edit the article Dawoodi Bohras:

Before you delete or update any material related to the Dawoodi Bohras, please make sure that you (1) have a citation for a book from which you can quote the material you are posting, or (2) can qualify yourself and name yourself as an official representative to His Holiness.

This first condition is a already a requirement of Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. The second condition, however, is wholly foreign to Wikipedia and no editor is under the slightest obligation to observe it: Wikipedia editors do not require any official imprimatur for the changes they make to an article; nor are they required to furnish credentials prior to editing. Editors must observe Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but the ability to of any person to edit an article is one of the founding principles of Wikipedia. Editors do not need to seek the approval of any outside authority prior to editing an article, and any attempt to enforce such a requirement is likely to be seen as disruptive. There are no "official" editors nor "official" versions of Wikipedia articles.

Finally, please also note that Wikipedia articles typically do not employ honorifics like "His Holiness" (for more information, please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies)#Honorific prefixes). Likewise, for Islam-related articles, abbreviations such as PBUH and SAW are not included in inline text. For a fuller list, please consult Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Islam-related articles)#Islamic honorifics. -- Rrburke (talk) 18:54, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
