I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Counter Terrorist Team, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Counter Terrorist Team. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. A tag has been placed on Geoffrey Clines, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
Same for Clay Dial (CTT Special Operations Agent).
Wikipedia is not the place for publishing amateur fiction. Until this work of fiction is actually published and becomes known, it is not appropriate to create articles on the characters. Fan-1967 20:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea where this material belongs. Not here. This is an encyclopedia. As far as fiction is concerned, we document notable published works. Fan-1967 20:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Would posting it on a website count as publishing it? No. Anyone can post anything on sites like freewebs or geocities. Doesn't mean it's worth taking notice of. For that matter, even actual publication doesn't count if it's with a vanity press. What we look for is fiction that has had significant sales, and/or has been reviewed in significant press outlets. Fan-1967 20:15, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely a no. If I can't buy your book at my local Borders, or amazon.com, it does not merit an article here. Fan-1967 20:18, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Is vandalizing user pages...
[edit]... part of how "Federal Agents" at your agency carry out their jobs? Fan-1967 20:28, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Do not vandalize articled for deletion nominations.
[edit]Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Fan-1967 20:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Criteria for speedy deletion
[edit]User pages are not encyclopedia articles, and thus are not subject to speedy deletion under CSD:A7. Please do not add {{db-bio}} tags to other users user pages. See WP:CSD for more information about speedy deletion criteria. Geoffrey Spear 20:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Personal attack warning
[edit]With regards to your comments on User talk:Fan-1967: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Gwernol 21:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
