Unsuitable additions to Horace Lindrum
[edit]Please do not add unsuitable additions to the Horace Lindrum article. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a vehicle for hyping up the man. "He went on to do just that for an incredible 50 years earning him the title of the “Pheidippides of Snooker”.", "Horace Lindrum was known as Tikooloshe (magician) in Africa, the Peter Pan of Snooker and Boy from Down under in the United Kingdom, the Ace in India, the achievements and philanthropic enterprises of this remarkable globetrotting sportsman are too many to list here", "Lindrum’s calling into the world of Billiards was marred by tragedy, war, family upheavals and controversy. But nothing was going to stop him from securing the crown. The Uncrowned King is an intensely human story, a story that captures the spirit of success, the tribulations of a truly extraordinary life and the mettle of a man who epitomises the Australian way." and "his beloved wife" are all completely unsuitable. Also note that factual statements should be referenced. eg this paragraph: "Australian professional billiards and snooker champion for over 33 years and a world professional snooker champion (1951/52) (retiring from competitive play as undefeated champion 1957 to become an exhibition player), Horace Lindrum recorded most of the first big world record breaks at snooker, many in world record time, as well as the first world record break at billiards under the baulk-line rules. In 1970 he became the first player in the history of the sport to record 1000 snooker centuries in public performance. Horace’s records all received Official Recognition of the Governing Body." I can see that he was "world professional snooker champion" but the other information needs some evidence before being included. Nigej (talk) 07:39, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
