I notice you made a change here, altering "Escort destroyers" to "Frigates". I've had to revert it, as it is not correct. You might be thinking of Destroyer escorts, which were called frigates in the RN, but the text is referring to the first year of the campaign; frigates weren't introduced until about 1943. The term escort destroyers here is referring just to destroyers on escort duty, which (in the early months) ended to be pulled out of convoys by the Admiralty and sent on (usually) wild-goose chases following up possible U-boat contacts. Later, under Western Approaches Command, Percy Noble put a stop to that and let escort commanders do their job without interference.
