Deletion of DECIDE

[edit]

Wondered why you've deleted my page on pop band DECIDE? This is twice it's been removed now and I'm getting a little frustrated as the reasons never seem to make any sense. Alright DECIDE never had a top ten hit but they're now working as HOLICE and are about to hit the big time and I feel that it's an important article as part of building their profile and history. Chris,
The reason for the editor's tagging and subsequent deletion was stated in the deletion summary as: (A7 (bio): Doesn't indicate importance or significance of a real person: Doesn't assert notability under WP:BAND).
That says basically all. If you read WP:BAND you will see that it did not meet the notability requirements for musical performers or groups. I'm not saying it is not notable, but that the article did not show it as per requirements.
Your message also shows that you may not have a clear understanding of what Wikipedia is and is not. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place to promote a band or "to build their profile and history" as you put it. If you feel the band is notable enough and can provide reliable sources to prove it, then you may have a case for inclusion, else I'm afraid they may not yet be ready for the encyclopedia. -- Alexf(talk) 10:09, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
