Question
[edit]Hello Colin Gleen! Welcome once more. I have a question. Can you tell me, please, why did you use the coat of arms of Bretagne for the template of Andrade Lands? Cheers! The Ogre (talk) 11:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, that is a hard one. Because the lands of the Andrades in the 14th century included Britonia (see this external link: Britonia) and Bretagne/Brittany are supposed to have the same roots. What do you think? --Colin Gleen (talk) 12:11, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply Colin. But I believe that is not a suficient reason (the same roots for the names). Why not the Andrade coat of arms (see below)? Several Galician and Poruguese genealogical sites (I just googled it) say that's the one the counts used (the first at least). By the way, you may that a look at some copy edit I did in your reply - it's just some tricks one learns along the way! Oh! And generally one replies in the other editor's talk page, but no problem. Thanks a lot for the info on Britonia (I just edit a bit, also on Mailoc) - I did knew there had been some Romano-Britons who settled in Galicia, but I didn't know any specifics. I am going to try and place the Andrade coa in the template, if you think it's not good, feel free to change, but I do believe that the one from Brittany is not a good choice (it pertains to a specific French tradition, whereas Iberian traditions are very different). Cheers! The Ogre (talk) 13:56, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Ferrol
[edit]Hi Colin,
Just a heads-up that I've responded to your comment at Talk:Ferrol, Spain.
On a separate matter, I've noticed that you tend to make several successive edits. We recommended that editors use the preview button before saving; this helps you find any errors you may have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history.
Also, please consider ensuring you use an edit summary each time you save, as it greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed.

Ferrol - your request for intervention
[edit]Hello Colin, CJ is not a vandal. And he is following procedure. What you have here is an edit war between different views about an article. This should be dealt with dialogue. I must tell you that I tend to agree with CJ regarding the infobox, it should be standartised, and the need for proper sources (regarding the Adelaide issue). The info on the non-standart infobox should be placed somewhere else in the article. This is my opinion. Please be carefull before calling someone a vandal. Likewise, please, when writing in another editor's talk page do make an effort not to use caps, unless you want to be seen as someone who shouts permantely, and to write at the end of the page, after previous dialogues. I shall not intervene in this issue. Please remember that you are a fairly new user here and that CJ has been around since 2004 and is an administrator. Of course I do not mean to demean your valuable contributions not to imply that you have less rights than CJ. I'm just saying you should take it easy and try to dialogue with him. Thank you. Dear sockpuppet reverter
[edit]Ciao! It seems you haven't understood well the procedures here in Wikipedia. Or you contribute accepting them, or it's better you work on other stuff. It seems you are interested just in Ferrol: so create a website of your own about it, and have fun there, without hampering here collaborative people (a character you don't have). Good work. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 09:20, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
