Triple elimination chart

[edit]

Howdy! It was qite a while ago but Thanks for the chart. :-D The "If Necessary" matches are the idea that I was missing when I was tying myself in knots trying to work out how it was done. ;-) The tournament that I was interested in is still going on (turn-based backgammon with 64 starters and long match lengths. It'll be months before the final!). I'm not the TD but I checked out the chart for the guy who is and discovered flaws, the most obvious being that the winner of the top bracket was playing it as a single elimination. DailyGammon Never-ending 3 Chances I've bookmarked your site for future reference. Thanks again. :-D Ferdinangus (talk) 07:49, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm glad that my inputs into designing triple-elimination tournaments helped you with your tournament. I visited your '3 Chances' backgammon tourney page. Wow, that's a huge bracket diagram. I see that it's an Excel sheet converted to HTML. It came out pretty good, but I can see how it's limiting to illustrate complex brackets.

The article Triple-elimination tournament has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced micro-stub since expanded with made-up nonsense and self-promotional "variation". Talk page evidentiary of serious problems in bracket mathematics, too.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō Contribs. 10:57, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
