The Scorpion Theory
[edit]We are familiar with the arachnid scorpion [1] from fabled tales to their movie counterparts but very few are familiar with the scorpion theory though it has been gaining some popularity in websites such as tumblr [2], pinterest[3] and reddit[4]. The scorpion theory essentially states that the symbol of the scorpion on the body, either a birthmark or a tattoo protects the bearer in their life. Even though this is very similar to the myths and legends associated with any animal based tribes, there's more to the story than meets the eye. There are mentions of a ritual performed while entrusting the care of a person to the scorpion as well as a blood sacrifice of sorts. However there is no mention of any 'proper' magic[5] involved during or after the procedure. Whatever protection the person is meant to get occurs via coincidences or luck.
