Consider changing something
Consider putting this under stronger protection (extended confirmed? template editor? full?) to keep people who might rack up 10 edits before doing WP:NOTHERE edits and who might want to avoid attention from changing it. Or, and maybe you have already done this, put a tripwire on the page specifically to use it as one of one of these. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:00, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Davidwr: probably a good shout. Suffusion of Yellow, do you mind adding extconf? Dat GuyTalkContribs 07:08, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- If there were such as thing as "EFM/EFH protected", that would be the right level. But extendedconfirmed seems fine. I think any disruption to that page would be noticed quickly enough, and doesn't seem worth making 500 edits. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 03:29, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for your help with the image for Bloodlust Zombies, it looks nice in the infobox. Have a great weekend, Right cite (talk) 15:50, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

400px?
DatBot seems to resize non-free logos to 400px wide. However infoboxes display logos at 440px wide on a standard high-DPI screen (220 “logical” pixels times two). I would make more sense to size down to the used width, 440px (or even round it up to 450 or 500px in case the design of infoboxes ever come to change). ~ nicolas (talk) 16:24, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Nclm: The current consensus is for an image to have a maximum of 100000 pixels, per WP:IMAGERES. If you'd like to change it or implement a separate basis then you should bring it up on the talk page or possibly the village pump. Dat GuyTalkContribs 19:11, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
To all talk page watchers, regarding the image resizer task
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}} Despite my (fairly frequent) editing breaks, I'm still looking into how to fix some SVG size mismatch issues every other day or so. Apologies. Dat GuyTalkContribs 07:08, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Can you get the bot to do some runs anyway, there are now over 3,000 files in Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests. Thanks. Nthep (talk) 13:10, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yes of course, doing now. Dat GuyTalkContribs 13:13, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Non-free reduce stopped?
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}} DatBot hasn't reduced any image after 20 November it seems? Problem? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 15:47, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- Seems to be running again, thanks! — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 19:11, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- And it stopped again? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 11:26, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Alexis Jazz: seems like File:The Land They Live on The Land (book cover).png was deleted just as the bot was processing it. Dat GuyTalkContribs 14:06, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- It's not running anymore is it? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 08:59, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
- Is there a problem that prevents it from running? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 20:46, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Alexis Jazz: there is an issue with the SVG resizing that I'm working out, which is why it doesn't run on a schedule, as if it runs while it's in a development setting it could be very bad. I run it manually occasionally. Dat GuyTalkContribs 22:11, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

Concettta Tomei Images
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}} Why were the nicely sized images on the Tomei article changed to a file so small as to make them distorted? It seems highly unfair to make a thumbnail jpg so small that it's blurry, distorted. I understand that the images needed to be resized, but the Tomei image files are almost useless now. Is there recourse? Or will Wikipedia remain ridiculously strict? Most uncool. Jameszerukjr (talk) 07:54, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Jameszerukjr: Images that are uploaded on individual Wikipedias rather than Commons are non-free. One of the criteria is 'minimal usage,' which in part includes that images should be rescaled as small as possible to still be useful as identified by their rationale, and no larger. Currently, that number stands at 10000 pixels, or 0.1 megapixels. If you want it to be at the original resolution, your best option is to find a free image or ask the copyright holder to release the image under a free license. In my opinion the current quality is definitely adequate for the image to be understood, but if you'd like, you can force the image to be a certain size.
