Butterflies

Singing butterflies sing to me

Gently playing that melody

As I lay myself to sleep
I hear that infernal beep

That signifies, the time has arrived
For me to sing you, a lullaby

But lullabies are only for babies
But thank goodness, I don't have rabies

So quietly, I take out the hammer

And throw the beeper, into the slammer

Where it shall stay, till the end of time
Or until the day, that I go blind

Whichever comes first, no one can tell
But this irritating itch, I just can't qwell

Butterflies have come back, to sing to me
This time I'll listen to them, very carefully
