Passports
[edit]Hi. I saw the map you added to the passport article. Could you perhaps re-do the caption to better describe what the map is displaying. Right now I look at the map, and according to the legend the green countries are "10 years". 10 years for what? Is that the maximum amount of time they will accept the validity of these types of passports? I thought the issuing entity set the time limit? I like the idea of the map, but I'm not sure it's clear what it represents (of course, it could simply be my own ignorance). Thanks.Onel5969 (talk) 11:51, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello there, thank you for your message. The map indicates how long a country issues passports for, so a country shown in green on the map issues their passports for 10 years, a country shown in red issues their passports for 5 years. I hope this clarifies your question. Thanks (talk) 19:51, 20 September 2014 (AEST)

Fiddle Faddle 16:54, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Passport-validity map – original sources please!
[edit]Hi, could you edit the description page and specify which sources you used:
- For the blank map itself (before you colored it)
- For the country-by-country data (you could specify a rough list of Wiki articles you used, if that's the case – or list some of the external sources as well, if that's what you used)
"Photo editing software" that you specified is a tool, not a source! cherkash (talk) 17:37, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
