Stop edit warring (at American alligator), and stop confusing individual alligator or crocodile species with their larger families or groupings. You have confused the prehistoric origins of the Nile crocodile with the prehistoric origins of all crocodiles. And you have made the same mistake with the American alligator, confusing its Late Cretaceous origins with that of the larger alligator family Alligatoridae or larger grouping Alligatoroidea. Also, read up WP:EDIT WARRING. Stop trying to reintroduce a change that others have already reverted. Also, read up on WP:CITING SOURCES.
