Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to James Cleverly, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 06:55, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - many thanks for this and I appreciate the advice. However, the edit says that supporters of Salma have issued a Press Release - that's an established fact. Isn't it similar to earlier entries - eg where MPs criticise him about his policy on China? It's not saying who is right or wrong, just stating the fact that the comments have been made? Discojohn48 (talk) 07:19, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS - would putting the word "alleged" before failure fix it? Discojohn48 (talk) 07:21, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS - I've noticed that you've removed my edits on Salma's own page. Could you let me know why, please? Thank you. Discojohn48 (talk) 07:40, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A press release by a party involved in the controversy is not a reliable source under Wikipedia guidelines. Please review the section on reliable sources. If an independent news source covers this news then it may be worthy of inclusion, subject to other Wikipedia policies.49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 05:30, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
