Combining two awards in one article[edit]
I have been removing the mention of other awards from articles about a particular award, in cases where the combination is not supported by sources listing both, thus violating WP:SYNTH. I noticed that you have added things like this in the past.[1][2] Please refrain from combining awards unless the sources talk about both. Binksternet (talk) 22:42, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm a bit confused. For those two articles you linked, I did provide clear sources for the other similar awards (Oscar or Emmy). They can be found in the table in the "Ref." column. You said "in cases where the combination is not supported by the sources listing both", but since I provided references for the other awards, isn't that ok to include? Thanks for any explanation! Doctor Martin Van Nostrand (talk) 03:07, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- At Writers Guild of America Award for Best Documentary Screenplay, you added a bunch of references to oscars.org webpages listing Academy Awards, but none of those references make the connection to the Writers Guild of America Award. If the references don't make the connection then you are violating WP:SYNTH, in which you combine reference A and reference B to make a new connection C. Journalists, reporters and book/magazine authors are expected to make new connections in their writings but Wikipedia editors must refrain. Binksternet (talk) 14:02, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
