After making several changes to the article on Tamarack Resort, I reviewed the COI guidelines. I wish to disclose that I am the lawyer for Tamarack Municipal Association, Inc., (Not Tamarack Resort), and have long been concerned about inaccuracies and obsolete references in the article.
In the last several days, I made several changes to the Tamarack Resort Article that I believe comply with the general guidelines, particularly neutral point of view.
Example: former content stated that a motion West Mountain Preservation Management was denied, when the cited footnote stated simply that the motion was not pursued because of Credit Suisse's opposition.
Example: Dining choices sounded like it was taken verbatim from someone's advertising. It also failed to mention that one of the restaurants (More's) is closed this winter.
Example: Other editors appear to have reprinted sensation-seeking headlines instead of articles. Article content, not headline, was reviewed and article was edited to reflect reference article content, not headline.
Example: First paragraph continued to mention closure. As all recreation is now operational (managed by my client) it seemed appropriate to make that change - appropriate sources were cited.
Example: Other editors appear to have been confused about or unaware of the legal distinction between bankruptcy and foreclosure. I made changes to assist in differentiating between the federal court process for discharging debt (bankruptcy) and the state court procedure for a mortgage-holder to obtain possession after its debtor defaults on the secured obligation (foreclosure).
Further editing changes would improve accuracy and neutrality: Judge Owen's foreclosure case was started when Credit Suisse filed the mortgage foreclosure action on March 9, 2008. Credit Suisse asked to have Douglas Wilson appointed as a receiver. Reopening the ski facilities in December 2010 required approval of both the Idaho State Land Board and Bankruptcy Judge Terry Myers. References to those events, to reflect the need for "further editing changes," from reliable news sources are available and should be added to the article.
