The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
You've beaten me to several reverts now, despite the fact that you're not using any specialist tools, and seem quite new at all this! Well done! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry 10:17, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Standardized user warnings

[edit]

I just thought I'd mention that there are ready-made messages for most cases of vandalism at WP:UTM... You are of course welcome to compose personal messages if you want Ksero 10:30, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Be an egg" is not one of our cardinal principles. :-) Thanks for the revert. Naraht 11:09, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notices

[edit]

Hi Drydom, I ran across this page while doing Help Desk monitoring, and I'm curious to know if you're using templates, or typing the notices up by hand? If you're using a template, could you please let me know exactly which template that was, as there is an error in it, it should not be adding the {{helpme}} to the user's page, it should simply show the template format. If you're typing them up by hand, please use the template link, via {{tl|helpme}} which will allow the editor to click on the template to see what it does, but also has the added bonus of not actually placing the template on the page. Also, it would be super helpful to the editor, and to other editors who may need to warn the user, or review the user's contributions, if you would use the additional "article" parameter in templates, as you can see in the documentation here: {{uw-delete1}}, you would type: {{subst:uw-delete1|Article|Additional text}} . If you know all of this, and it was some other error, feel free to ignore me! Cheers, ArielGold 05:08, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

O- sorry, you were partly right, i accidentally merged it with another greeting template in "greeting newcomers" here. It has the problem you've described. thx for telling me about this.Drydom 10:47, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL No worries! I've done that, actually. I ended up wanting to use parts of 3-4 templates, so just made my own, lol. Glad to know it isn't a template issue, I'm not the world's best coder, hee hee. Thanks for the reply! ArielGold 17:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

re: note

[edit]

Thanks for your note. Yeah, I had just figured that out myself, and was about to do that very thing. It's getting harder and harder to edit as an ip here. 86.44.6.14 (talk) 11:28, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edit of 2007 October 19

Just another from an editor who appreciates your reverting vandalism on one of my userpages. arkuat (talk) 07:43, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 01:11, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
