I reverted your edit to Covariance and contravariance (computer science) because there didn't seem to be a good reason for the change and because it went against existing terminology on e.g. Function (mathematics) ("a function from a set X to a set Y"). For future edits, please use an edit summary to explain your reasoning, to reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. It's also good to describe what the edit changes to save other editors having to read it to understand it. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief. You can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →

That said, I'm open to being convinced about the terminology, and you're welcome to add a topic on the article talk page to discuss the change.
Lastly, this edit also should not have been marked as minor. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word.
