Center for the Performing Arts

The Center for the Performing Arts at Eastern Kentucky University is a performing arts center located in Richmond, Kentucky, United States. The Center will feature a variety of performing arts disciplines, including dance, music and theater. From Bach to Broadway, Blues to Ballet, Roots to World, and from the brightest stars to emerging to student artists. The Center will have something for everyone to enjoy. The Center for the Performing Arts serves as a space for community and student productions, providing local arts and other community organizations and emerging performers with an unparalleled opportunity to perform in a premiere professional setting. The Center contributes to the vitality of the local arts scene and the economy development of the region. With collaboration among the University, City of Richmond, City of Berea, and Madison County, a board governs the Center with representatives from each entity. The mission for the Center is to foster regional cultural vitality through artistically excellent programming, community engagement, and creative collaboration. The vision for the Center is to inspire excellence in the performing arts and enhance the cultural and educational life of the region. With education being a key component of the Center’s programming, there are school day performances, and opportunities for everyone to learn more about the arts and to participate in creative activities. The highlights of the Center are: • 128,885 square feet • 2,000-seat “Broadway-quality” theater • 230-seat configurable black-box theater • Grand lobby suitable for multiple events • Among the finest facilities in the Commonwealth and multi-state region.
