Orphaned non-free media (Image:Roy Orbison - Black And White Night.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Roy Orbison - Black And White Night.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:43, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Jungleland, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Thanks. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 00:43, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Per this discussion at the External Links noticeboard, this site has been added to the local blacklist as hosting unambiguous copyright violations. Many of your recent additions of this site to various Bruce Springsteen articles have already been reverted by admin @Beetstra: but I would like to invite you to remove any ones that you added which may have been missed. Thank you. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:06, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
