Thought provoking

I saw this go by on wikien-l, and David Gerard's repost to mediawiki-l. There are two comments this brings to mind: One, we need to get some professional Information Architects to consider the question of what a reasonable minimum path is from first desiring to edit a WP article and knowing enough to do so "appropriately" (which I will define as, not-controversially to established editors, for the time being). Two, I second David Gerard's call for finding a usability testing lab to look into the interface issues with the software. Georgewilliamherbert 23:29, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Both excellent ideas. In the mean time, I would suggest that we ought to at least actually be thinking about these issues, instead of designing for the process wonks, which is our current methodology. Phil Sandifer 23:57, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
