Speedy deletion of L.O.S.A.B.[edit]

A tag has been placed on L.O.S.A.B. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Elicrichton. I got your message just now, but it seems I was a bit late. Sorry. Nevertheless, I'm more than willing to discuss why your page was deleted. Your article, as the notice above says, was deleted by an administrator (not me, I'm not an admin) under the terms of Criteria for Speedy Deletion A7, which says "An article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." When I read your article, there seemed to be some doubt as to whether the group even existed, and you weren't able to justify why the group would belong in an encyclopedia. While it doesn't apply toward CSD A7, the two sources you provided were by no means credible and at least one of them was in violation of our policy on external links. It's also possible that the group falls under one of the things Wikipedia is not.
I really don't mean to sound harsh or anything by telling you all this, or by slapping that huge warning on your page. I'm very glad that you came to me to talk about it, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might still have. If you still feel this group needs an article here, I'd suggest you start writing it on a user subpage, such as User:Elicrichton/LOSAB. You may also want to take a look at how to write your first article, the policies I've linked above, and the deletion log for the page, which shows that the page has been deleted once before. Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. I check my talk page several times each day and should reply fairly quickly. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing as always. Hersfold (t/a/c) 06:30, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
