Vandalism warning

[edit]

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I notice your first edits have been to delete sourced material at the article Mark Feygin; please note that deleting sourced content from Wikipedia without explanation can be considered vandalism. You may wish to discuss your concerns on the article's talk page instead. Cheers and all best, Khazar2 (talk) 14:12, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Khazar2! I've deleted the information, because it describes only one view which was recognized as fraud in media and by Bar Association. As far as I understand Wiki rules the article should be neutral and just give information. This one is definitely not. Ellya Li (talk) 14:23, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The article seems to me to give both sides of the controversy, describing both Samutsevich and Feygin's versions of events. But any information you could add would of course be helpful if it comes from reliable sources. Maybe you could provide links to the sources you're looking at on the article's talk page? Thanks, -- Khazar2 (talk) 15:38, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm extremely disappointed by your refusal to discuss this article at the article's talk page, and your continued insistence on deleting sourced content. Instead of edit-warring, let's discuss--that's what the talk page is there for. -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:10, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me that you do not know what the word "biography " means. Feygin is not about Pussy Riot, he is much more than this. And according to the Wiki rules it is better when articles are translated from one language to another, rather than writing new ones. By the way , you deleted my photo. I am very disappointed by your one-side position and will be looking for the other way to solve thisEllya Li (talk) 21:17, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what "Wiki rules" you're referring to--could you give me a link? English Wikipedia rules require articles to be built around reliable sources, which is my main priority here. Your new draft article wasn't even coherent or in complete sentences.
I'm still hoping we can collaborate productively on this article, but you'll have to discuss the issues for us to do that. I agree with you that it would be helpful to expand other aspects of Feygin's biography; I don't think the solution is to delete information about the Pussy Riot situation, which is what he's most internationally famous for. Let's start from the beginning--what sources would you like to add information to the article from? I'd welcome your help in research on this. You're quite right that the article needs expansion, but remember that Russian Wikipedia is not a reliable source that you can just cut-and-paste from. -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:49, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And I did restore the image now; my apologies for removing that with the rest. I'll review the other sources you added to see what more can be updated. -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:51, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only new information I saw in your sources was the vice-mayorship, which I've now added to the article. I'm happy to add any additional information that you have sources for, however. Cheers, -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:58, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Really? What about Kasyanov? What about Novy Mir? What about State Duma? I do not know how to explain you, that Feygin's life is not PR, not the main event. Being a member of political opposition in Russia we know Feygin for more than 10 years, and of course I an send you links , but not sure you speak russian...ll facts I have written are well-known here, and as far as I know Feygin by himself told that Russian wiki is 100% trueEllya Li (talk) 22:09, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Where was Kasyanov in the links you added? Give me that link individually and I'll add it in; I can use Google Translate or ask for help if I need to.
But you need to take a few moments and read about how Wikipedia works, particularly our policy on reliable sources that I linked above. Saying "I know him and this is true" is not the same as giving a source. -- Khazar2 (talk) 22:20, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, let's continue the discussion at the article talk page from now on. That way other editors can join. -- Khazar2 (talk) 22:24, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
