== July 2008 ==I'm not sure how this works. I was just trying to update the page with factual information. The USS Silversides surfaced at the north pole the first time as stated. The second surfacing was after I was on board. It also participated in Operation Urgent Fury, the invasion of Grenada.

Both are verifiable via military medals received by it's crew. Although the Urgent Fury page on Wikepedia also does not list the Silversides. I know because I have the Joint Armed Forces medal for it. We were shocked that the Navy actually acknowledged our participation for once. Until then they always denied any submarine prescence/location in any operations.

As far as the other cold war ops statements I thought it was pretty clean and adequately indescript. The ops are still classified I guess, not public knowledge. Being the only sub that could let seals in and out underwater should qualify that. Just look at the pictures of the silversides with the hump it's pretty obvious.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to USS Silversides (SSN-679), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -MBK004 02:36, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
