Hello, this is Careiter, I was adopted by a user who soon retired and am looking for a new adopter. Careiter 09:39, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Adoption

[edit]

Hi! I am Meisfunny and if you wanted, I would be willing to adopt you. If you could reply either yes or no on my talk, that would be great. I am not an admin but have over 1000 edits in only two months here. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks, and welcome! Meisfunny Gab 21:09, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright then. I am still trying to figure out all the nooks and crannies of the process, but whenever you have a question, ask me on my talk. Every once in a while, I'll check your contribs to see what you've been up to. I am pretty busy with my WikiProject right now, but I'm always willing to help! If you would like, I could give you advice in the form of lessons. Let me know what you think and good luck! Meisfunny Gab 01:04, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have a tutorial outlined for you at User:Careiter/Tutorial 1. If you could answer the questions, that would be awesome! If you are stunped on #3, look around, and if your really stumped, I'll give you help. Meisfunny Gab 02:07, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Super! Thank you, I will look at it. Good luck on your project. Are you in the Pac NW (since it involves the Mariners)?Careiter (talk) 19:24, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great answers. Answer #3 is perfect. Good research! I'm creating a menu of your tutorials at User:Careiter/Tutorials. I will create User:Careiter/Tutorial 2. They'll need to be a bit more difficult. Meisfunny Gab 04:11, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How To...?

[edit]

Question1: There are a couple of spelling and grammatical errors in the "Dietitian" page. I also noticed it has hardly any references to support any of the information (some of which I can prove to be false). The "Nutritionist" page is similarly full of similar errors. Where do I begin?
The talk page for Dietitian is rather lengthy, and I don't know if I should start a new section or argue one way or the other on each point?Or only the ones I deem worth arguing for or against?I am still unclear on how to insert references, such as "Dietitians must complete 4 years of schooling[1]1. American Dietetic Association: Handbook of Registration Requirements, pp101-112 etc.Question2: Where do you feel Wikipedia needs the most help? (i.e. verification of facts, eliminating vandalism, correcting spelling and miscellaneous errors, etc.?

Answer1: I would check out the Dietitian talk, and Nutritionist talk pages. Even if they are lengthy, they are useful. You could either add to a different section, start a new one, and see if anyone else has concerns. You can make contact with an admin frequently editing the page to see what they think for a second opinion. Spelling errors don't need to be discussed usually, so if you see a few, take them all out. References are inserted using <ref>URL or name of your source</ref>, and it will insert a footnote, and it will add the source to the References section of the page, assuming it uses the {{reflist}} template. If you use a URL, which are always the best source, since they can be viewed, and put a space after it's end, it will show the text afterwards too. If I wanted to make a reference to... say, the Main Page (which you SHOULD NOT do, since you need third-party sources), I would type <ref>http://en.wikipedia.org TEXT</ref>, it would generate [1]. Answer2:This is more of an opinionated answer, so don't necessarily believe it is what actually needs the most help, but I feel it needs to get better article quality. There are plenty of articles in the English Wikipedia (over 2 million), but a bunch are only stubs, maybe even half of them. Meisfunny Gab 17:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just fixed a stub under Pathergy test. Did I do ok?
Careiter(talk) 20:42, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You did pretty good! It was a little bit off, but I fixed that, and you can see what I did using the history tab. Meisfunny Gab How was I? 23:34, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do I remove reference #13 (redundant, created by mistake) from Kenneth Parnell’s page? Endobiont 14:23, 20 August 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Careiter (talkcontribs)

Moved

[edit]

You created this page: User:Careiter/Tutorials but forgot the : between user and your name, thus putting it in the Wikipedia Article namespace. I moved it for you =) --mboverload@ 04:14, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, that was me, his adopter, sorry about that. Meisfunny Gab 04:15, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage

[edit]

I'm curious to see if you would like to create a large, cooler, userpage. If you would, I would be glad to help! Meisfunny Gab 17:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't wait for you to ask! Careiter (talk) 23:38, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! Let me know if you want to make it yourself or me to make it, and if yes, the specifications. Meisfunny Gab 17:27, 21 August 2008 (UTC) (p.s. nice new sig)[reply]
I wouldn't know where or how to start...?Careiter(talk) 20:47, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll gladly do it, but I'll need your criteria, such as links to pages and your subpages, colors, userboxen, etc. That's all I need. Meisfunny Gab How was I? 23:19, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
