Hi Eric, thanks for your message. As far as the image goes, I'm not really sure it's a good idea, because if you are not the property holder and cannot release its ownership license for public use, it will only get deleted. I'm actually unable to view the link you provided without my browser crashing. Secondly, I "could" easily move your article to the preferred name-space... but I really need to know for sure that it is indeed the name he is most known by. If not, we can always create a "The Dan Plan" redirect to targets the existing article. What do you think? :)  -- WikHead (talk) 22:47, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again,

Thank you for responding!

Well, the picture is no biggie. As far as the title, I would like you to rename it as "The Dan Plan" but only if you think my reasoning is sufficient.

"The Dan Plan" is what my English group and I mainly aimed to write about, there are many persons named Dan McLaughlin and I would find it inappropriate to title our Dan McLaughlin as "photographer".

I wouldn't even mind the title being, "Dan McLaughlin (golfer)" but this may not be appropriate since he hasn't gone professional in golfing yet. Either way, let me know what you think, I'm new to wiki editing and am strictly writing this article for a group project in my college English class.

Also, I don't see how the article is written as an "advertisement"? If you could let me know what I can change, I would be happy to.

Thank you so much!

Hey Eric, excuse the delay... your message was just coming in as the pizza delivery guy was getting here. I'll tell you what, just because I'm in a mood to be helpful, I'm going to ask another user for a second opinion before performing your page move... just because my gut is telling me that it might not be completely within the scope of Wikipedia's naming convention. I'm doing this only as a precaution, because if I move the page, I'm of course the one who's responsible for that action... so it's worth knowing in advance that it will be done correctly. Should there be any problems with it, I'll post here to your talk-page to let you know... and if not, you can expect to see the article renamed as planned, once I'm absolutely positive that it's a good idea. ;)  -- WikHead (talk) 00:53, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the {{advert}} tag... from a rather quick review, I'm not really sure at the moment why that user tagged it as such, but I will most certainly review closely at page-move time, make any necessary tweaks, and remove the tag if I'm unable to detect any issues. Hang tight ;)  -- WikHead (talk) 01:15, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay :D

After giving this a lot of careful though, I really think the article is more about him (the person) than it is his plan. I personally think it might be best to rename this as Dan McLaughlin (golfer) unless you want to rewrite and focus more on the plan than the man. We can always create other redirects that will come up as search results. What are your thoughts?  -- WikHead (talk) 02:50, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again,

Dan McLaughlin (golfer) is fine by me. As long as the page comes up when "The Dan Plan" is googled or wiki'ed I will be content. Just a reminder, I still need to edit the article to make it sound less like an advertisement. My teacher is going to be judging my group's article Thursday (6/6/12).

Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it.

As requested, The Dan Plan and Dan McLaughlin (photographer) now both redirect to Dan McLaughlin (golfer). This should help improve searches using any of these terms. I would highly recommend adding additional references from multiple sources to this article. Best of luck, and happy editing! :)  -- WikHead (talk) 05:37, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
