Albigensian Crusade
[edit]Thanks for improving the language of the paragraph on Béziers! But I've had to re-edit it because (1) Caesar of Heisterbach wasn't a chronicler; (2) Arnaud-Amaury wasn't (so far as I know) 'the leader of the Crusader army' at that point, just 'a leader' -- but if you feel sure I'm wrong there, put 'the leader' back again; (3) the conventional translation of his words, however conventional it may be, is less accurate than the one I put there two days ago. I have now inserted a translation (as given by Sibly and Sibly) that's still closer to the Latin, and added the conventional one in the footnote. Andrew Dalby 19:38, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
