UNBLOCK REQUEST FROM USER: evilowen2

I am unsure why I am blocked. My assistant entered 3 entries on your site yesterday afternoon: Evil Owen, Nick Presley, and Phantom Features. When we checked the links they came up as no entry found. She reentered the info 3 times. I checked from my account and could not find the 3 entries so I added them under my account last night. Now they are gone again. I dont understand why they were not appearing, and why I am now blocked.

I authenticated my email and attempted to email The Anome directly however, I am told that: No send address From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search You must be logged in and have a valid authenticated e-mail address in your preferences to send e-mail to other users.

Please unblock me so I may add and edit as anyone else would.

Thank you.

Response to unblock request

[edit]

This has all been covered at the user talk for your first username: User talk:Evilowen. Clearly you and/or your assistant chose to ignore and disregard every single thing posted there, showing a total disregard for Wikipedia's standards and rules. Blocking only occurs after repeated warnings are disregarded, and that is exactly what happened in this case. You created the new name, Evilowen2, in order to continue exactly the same activities that had resulte in the blocking of Evilowen.

Let's review the history. Three articles were created, Evil owen, PHANTOM FEATURES and Nick Presley, with basically the same content. The Presley article met the standards for Speedy Deletion as a biographical entry which did not assert notability for its subject. The other two were nominated for the standard deletion process, which normally involves five days of discussion. When those were nominated for deletion, user Evilowen started creating multiple versions of the same entries under similar sames. Wikipedia editors spotted them, and added them to the deletion discussion. Despite repeated warnings, Evilowen removed the deletion warnings from the articles, and at one point deleted the entire deletion discussion for the Evil owenarticles. At that point, Evilowen was given a 24-hour block to try to send the message that such conduct was unacceptable.

It didn't work. As soon as the block expired, Evilowen resumed exactly the same activities. More warnings were left and ignored, and Evilowen was blocked again for another two days. At that point Evilowen2 showed up, and started the same activities yet again. Our patience had been exhausted, and Evilowen2 was blocked indefinitely.

In order to discourage any further activity in this area, the deletion discussions, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PHANTOM FEATURES and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Evil owen were closed early under the policy of WP:SNOW (i.e. there was never a snowball's chance in hell of the articles being kept anyway), and all versions of the articles were deleted. If they show up again, they will be deleted again, and whoever recreates them will be blocked again.

You and/or your assistant do not appear interested in being constructive editors at Wikipedia, only in using it as a means to promote your movie, regardless of Wikipedia's standards and rules. That is not going to happen.

If you read the deletion discussions on the articles, you should get an idea of why they don't meet our standards, but I'll lay them out for you. This is a movie no one's ever heard of, by a director no one's ever heard of, from a studio no one's ever heard of. Fails Wikipedia standards for notability cubed. In addition, there is no news on such a film, no press, no reports from anywhere except your myspace page and website that the film even exists at all, so it fails Wikipedia standards for verifiability. And, last but not least, the movie hasn't even be released, and there's no way to know if it will even have any distribution, so it fails our policy that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.

I am not an administrator, just another Wikipedia editor who spent a lot of time and effort cleaning up after you, but I'd say your chances of being unblocked are somewhere between slim and none. Fan-1967 15:21, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated, I am not the same person, nor do I have the same account as my assistant. I, EvilOwen2 was not provided with a single warning, NOT ONE. So how could I have disregarded them?

As my bio states, I am a breakthrough filmmaker with my first debut. My film has been accepted by IMDB and will be available for your review at IMDB.com in the next 10 days. The movie as clearly indicated in my discription is slated for release October 2006. If you Google Evil Owen you get results returned, and that is an organic search.

I have a website EvilOwen.com with a trailer to be posted in the next 7-10 days. Your comment "Nobody has ever heard of" who is nobody? Because YOU have never heard of me, doesnt mean I don't exist, are you the nobody to which you refer? At one point in time nobody had ever heard of Steven Spielberg or Woody Allen, did they not exist? Is it your decision on whether someone shoud get a chance to get their name and bio published? Are you a talent agent or movie critic? If Blair Witch Project or Spiderman met you and your critiques and blocking they would have never been made. I guess you are an industry authority.

What exactly do you need for verifibility? I have listed 3 sites and have clips and trailers to detail the film.

Does it take blood? or my first born?

Of course we have no way of knowing whether two people or one are involved in those accounts. Did your assistant not mention the warnings or blocking? No matter. Actually Blair Witch is an excellent example. Before its release, it certainly would not have met our standards. Once your film is released and distributed, I'm sure someone will create an article on it. Usually, only the most notable films (Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Casino Royale), from major studios, with well-known actors, and significant press coverage, qualify for articles ahead of their release. I ask again to be unblocked.

My assistant stated that she did not understand why she could not find the postings. I am not sure she was aware of the blocking or what that entailed. As stated, I have not received a single warning and have had my postings deleted due to your guidelines. You have provided film requirements however I have not received details on getting my bio listed.

As a producer and director how do I get my bio published? How does Phantom Features get posted? I have searched for these guidelines and have directly asked for the requirements but have not received this information.

For the record, you currently have many unreleased films in your files to include films that are not notable, from major studios with well-known actors and press coverage. I ask again for you to reconsider posting my listing as outline below.

Thank you.

NICK PRESLEY

[edit]
File:PhantomFeatures.jpg

Similar to Blair Witch project, Nick Presley's Evil Owen is a low-budget horror film that's expected to generate more buzz than the chainsaw used in that Texas massacre.

Phantom Features is lead by the breakthrough filmmaker Nick Presley. Presley follows the lead of Steve Balderson (Firecracker, Pep Squad) and Dante Tomaselli (The Ocean, Satan's Playground, Horror, Desecration) by operating on the edges of the Hollywood Studio system to fulfill his cinematic vision.

File:46147916A.jpg

Nick Presley was born in 1967 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended New York University’s film school and began publishing work at the Inquirer and other publications by the time he was twenty-three. Nick knew that he wanted to make be a filmmaker, but the barricade around the film industry proved tough to break through. During a year abroad he met Woody Allen, who gave Presley his first job working on a film. This exposure pushed Presley to begin developing his own material.

Twelve years later, Presley is debuting, "Evil Owen." The film centers on a rejected actor gone mad. Tortured and wrought wretched by his rejection and pitiful existence, Evil Owen sets out by dark of night to movie premieres to find and eliminate his competition. Owen is compelled to do the only thing in the world he ever cared for, become a horror movie star. Driven mad and twisted by rejection after rejection he becomes so obsessed with the theater that he loses grasp of reality and his life. Owen is forced to seek shelter in the basement of the theater where he works as a ticket taker. Shortly afterwards the theater is condemned due to dilapidated conditions. Living alone in the theater and the loss of human interaction has deformed his body and warped his mind and soul. Tortured and wrought wretched by his rejection and pitiful existence, Evil Owen sets out by dark of night to movie premieres to find and eliminate his competition.

How do you get published? Get famous. Seriously, there's a standard rule that anybody who needs Wikipedia doesn't belong here. Let's be frank. There are tons of unknown filmmakers who all sincerely believe they're on the brink of fame. (I'm sure the Blair Witch guys thought that when making they're movie). A few are right. Most are wrong. Here, we wait. When they have achieved success, they deserve an article. When the film is in the multiplexes, or when it's been reviewed by Ebert, or the New York Times.

How many indy low-budget horror movies get made? How many find a distributor? How many go straight to video? How many don't even manage that? You don't have a distributor yet, do you? No way to tell if you'll be the lucky one. Until then, no, you don't belong. And if you're aware of articles here for films by unknown directors, without a cast, from a company whose website doesn't even exist (posting a weblink that doesn't work makes you look really amateurish), then let us know, because we'd like to take a look at any such articles.
