January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Farangis! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 11:31, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Apaugasma, Sorry about the multiple reverse, I only mean to do it once, and it seemed not to work, so I tried again, but I might have done it wrong. I apologise for the trouble and thank you for pointing this out to me. Farangis (talk) 10:26, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, as you can see on the page in question, the change that was made to my change which I tried to reverse did not work, the page has been reverted to its stage before I made the corrections. Farangis (talk) 10:29, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Farangis! Yes, your edit was reverted (undone) twice by Al Ameer son, here and here, because they think it added "too much unnecessary detail for the lead".
If you still would like to make the edit, you must discuss it first on Talk:Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan and get wp:consensus from other editors.
You can find more information about the way we work around here when disagreements arise at Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 12:33, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the detailed explanation! Farangis (talk) 16:54, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
