Abidemi Onajobi

Onajobi, Abidemi Samuel Olasunkanmi (born November 7, 1977) is a Nigerian Chartered Accountant, management consultant and banker. Abidemi has over ten years’ experience across Banking, Consulting and Oil & Gas sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Early Life and Education

Abidemi Onajobi was born to the family of Gani & Nike Onajobi in Ilisan-Remo (Ogun State, Nigeria) on the 7th of November 1977. In the neigbourhood he grew up (itun Imosan, Ilisan Remo), he was known as "Abidemi Oga Onopa" meaning "Bidemi, the Police boss". This was due to his love for and pride of The Nigerian Police and an ambition to be enlisted. However, as he grew up, eh came to see corruption and indiscipline in the force which made it unattractive to him and led to a change of dream.

Abidemi started his educational pursuit at Wesley Primary School, Ilisan in 1983. By the year 1988, he moved to Federal Government College Staff Primary School, Odogbolu (Now Local Government Model School, Odogbolu) where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.

He had his secondary education at Remo Secondary School (RSS)Sagamu from 1990 to 1995. With his performance at the Senior School Certificate Exam and Joint Admission Matriculation Board Exam, he proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

In 2010, Abidemi returned to obtain a Masters of Business Administration (Finance) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

Career life

Abidemi started his career as an Administrative Officer (National Youth Service) in the Branch Operations Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lagos. He later worked with BMC Consultants Limited, Oando Plc, Phillips Consulting Limited and First City Monument Bank Limited.

Abidemi has provided excellent analytical and consulting support to clients on several projects covering strategy facilitation, business portfolio review, business expansion, business process design, HR strategy, business plan development & market intelligence services, due diligence exercise, Training across financial services, IT, manufacturing, and hotel & tourism industries. He was also responsible for developing information memorandum for a number of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises for equity and debt financing.

Abidemi is highly revered as Facilitator and Trainer in the areas of Strategic Management, Finance and Sales/Relationship Management.

Professional Affiliations

Abidemi is a Chartered Accountant, a Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (ISMN).

Abidemi is a Dale Carnegie Institute certified trainer.
