Fitzfiber[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Fitzfiber, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Fitzfiber. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Thanks for your reply. The issue was not the level of promotion or advertising in the article, but the notability of the company. See Wikipedia:Notability (companies and corporations) for an explanation of the rules on this. Independent of the specific contents of the article, a company must be well-known to be featured in a Wikipedia article. The same standard is applied in many other subject areas as well: generally people, groups, products, etc. must meet a notability standard for inclusion. This prevents Wikipedia from being used for promotional purposes or vanity. (Note that the notability requirement does not apply to all subject matter. An overview of the subject is found at Wikipedia:Notability.)

Fitz's meets the criteria, because, as mentioned in the article, they have been talked about in the press, including in USA Today and by Rachael Ray of the Food Network. Being discussed in the media is a key hallmark of notability.--Srleffler 19:16, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
