User talk:Flink the blind hemophiliac
Welcome!
Hello, Flink the blind hemophiliac, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! BlankVerse 17:57, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- There have been proposals to automatically welcome new users, but those proposals have never gained consensus. There are a few editors who watch for new editors and welcome them (but never enough). What happens, instead, is that a regular editor will see someone editing an article on their watchlist that still has a red-linked talk page. They will then go ahead and welcome them. I've seen a few editors who have been quietly editing mostly obscure and often underwatched articles that have gone almost a year before someone has welcomed them. Getting involved on the Wikipedia
[edit]There are numerous ways to get involved on the Wikipedia, but one of the best ways may be to start by looking at the various WikiProjects that can be found at WP:LWP. Those WikiProjects specifically involved in Wikipedia maintainance are found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory/Wikipedia. Since you want to get involved in anti-vandalism efforts, make sure that you know both the Wikipedia Policies and guidelines and Manual of Style well.
To reply to a user's message left on your talk page, Wikipedians usually post their response on the other user's talk page. Mine is at user talk:BlankVerse (which can also be found hidden in my signature). BlankVerse 17:57, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your help with the recent vandalism on Iain Dale. It appears to be continuing from an unsigned user - can you help? Thanks! MarkThomas 20:42, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
RC Patrol-related Proposals in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!
This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:
- Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
- Editor-focused central editing dashboard
- "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
- Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
- Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list
Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.
Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
