@Fllgiuse: Certifications are valid that come from RIAA but they are not automatic, meaning albums continue to sell after. So album can even reach multi platinum levels but if it isn't requested from the label to update certifications it remains at the old level, while sales can be above that. Certification from 1974 is valid, but other source from Cash Box is from 1980 and states that after that by the time of 1980 album sold up to 3 million in United States. That gold status is out of date. As many are. Same thing you can see with australian certification, but the sales are quite different and larger. Dhoffryn (talk) 19:15, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
