User talk:Fused~enwiki
Hi. Wikipedia does not host advertising or company profiles. Because Wikipedia is first and foremost an encyclopedia project, subjects of article must demonstrate notability in order to be allowed to have articles. KnowPlex and Fused Solutions appear to both fail to satisfy our notability guidelines. Furthermore, you (from your username) appear to be affiliated with the companies involved, and because you are not an independent editor your edits are contrary to our Autobiography guidelines. For all these reasons, the articles are being suggested for deletion. If you should contest these suggestions, be prepared to have very strong reasons (ones that Wikipedia cares about, note) or they will then nominated for formal deletion debates and will likely be removed. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by leaving a message at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. — Saxifrage ✎ 18:57, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. If you feel the link should be added to the article please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thanks. The difference between KnowPlex and SugarCRM is that SugarCRM has a notable distinction among CRM systems in that it is open-source. As such, it is a big fish in the little pond of open-source CRM solutions. By contrast, KnowPlex, as you have said, is unknown enough that it is not very significant—it is a small fish in a big pond. As Wikipedia is a tertiary reference work, we only document those things that are significant in the world. The very fact that KnowPlex does not yet have a notable presence makes it inadmissible in a tertiary reference work like this.
In addition, many articles are created every day that are very borderline in following Wikipedia's editorial standards. Articles about CRM solutions pop up every day, and the fact that there are many of questionable significance doesn't justify adding more articles about questionably-significant CRM solutions.
Regarding advertising, Wikipedia is not for advertising no matter what other considerations are involved. If the software was notable on its own then the article could be changed, but there is nothing to say about KnowPlex except what would constitute advertising: there's nothing about it's impact on the world we could write, which is what an encyclopedia is about. Lacking that and removing the advertising there is nothing that meets Wikipedia's threshold of significance left to say.
Finally, articles that are meant just as reference for other articles are not acceptable by the editorial standards either. Articles must stand on their own two feet to stay, so Fused Solutions can't ride on the (non-existent in this case) coattails of KnowPlex.
For reference, our collection of documents about notability standards can be found at Wikipedia:Notability. That's not the be-all-end-all of Wikipedia's editorial guidelines, but they're those most significant to this case. — Saxifrage ✎ 18:55, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
removing prod[edit]
If you remove proposed deletion tags, please explain why on the talk page. In any case I am submitting the Fused solutions to AfD. Pascal.Tesson 15:43, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Also I see that I forgot to mention that I proposed the deletion of cosourcing. Pascal.Tesson 16:00, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi Fused. I recommend that you take a look at the WP:SPAM and WP:CORP pages for more information about how you can contribute to Wikipedia without setting off the spam detectors. Thanks. --Alan Au 17:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia, as you did in Self service software. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. JonHarder 17:33, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Fused. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Fused~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
