List of hummingbirds new column[edit]

Your addition of the phylogenetic grouping column to List of hummingbirds needs more explanation than the reference alone. At the least, the introduction needs to be expanded to give some background in what it means. Another serious issue is that the paper presenting it is 12 years old and much has changed in hummingbird taxonomy since then so the paper's distribution of species into categories is probably out of date. Third, there are a number of mis-assignments, for instance the several hermits listed as coquettes. Fourth, there's the minor problem of capitalization - to comply with Wikipedia's Manual of Style WP:MOS the column header should be Phylogenetic grouping and Mountain Gems should be Mountain gems. @Craigthebirder: Thanks for the feedback! I made a number of corrections and updates, as suggested. G8yr5tM (talk) 22:29, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well done! May I suggest adding more text, discussing why the current IOC taxonomy doesn't correspond to the 2014 paper's groupings? (I also converted your reference to a "ref name" so the whole thing doesn't repeat. Just a little neater that way.)
