Re. Midsomer Murders =

[edit]

Thank you! As I said in my edit summary, I had no direct evidence that the John Barnaby character hadn't appeared in series 4, but it just seemed highly unlikely since the character was apparently only invented because they needed a replacement for John Nettles, and the chances of them having got an actor in a guest role to come and assume the lead twelve years later as the same character seemed extremely slim - I'm sure it's not unprecedented in the history of television, but if that HAD happened it would certainly be remarkable, and would require a great deal more sourced explanation than just a throwaway remark! So Neil Dudgeon was in series 4 as another character, eh? I wonder if that means in the Midsomer Murders universe old John Barnaby has a doppelgänger!

Incidentally, I agree with you on the point of the sidekick characters being referred to by their surnames. If you should notice it being re-reverted later on, give me a buzz, and I'll come on to the talk page for the article and help you establish a consensus on that point. I'll let you know likewise if I notice it, too. Lordrosemount (talk) 00:52, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

generally you take the primary source as absoluteness but it better to use 3rd party realisable sources that have no affricative to the subject in this case time team, im a bit tied up just now but when i can find it i will post it on your page first so we can discuss rather than edit war. Basically primary sources can be deceptive because they can have there own agendgaAndrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 19:42, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
