Paris agreement

  • The agreement is based on climate justice, equity and emphasises on common but differentiated responsibilities
  • Parampara – India released a book on India’s culture and climate friendly sustainable practices
  • INDC’s submitted by each nation – technology transfer, finance, capacity generation
  • Goals
  • To reduce emission intensity by 33-35% by 2030 from 2005 levels
  • To achieve 40% of India’s electricity requirement from non-fossil fuels by 2030 – by technology transfer and utilising green funds including green ====climate fund====
  • GCF(green climate fund) – is a fund under UNFCCC which will provide funds to developing nations
  • To create additional 2.5 ~ 3 billion tons of carbon sink through forest and tree cover by 2030
  • Science express climate action special train flagged off

  • Six categories : good, satisfactory, moderately polluted, poor, very poor and severe
  • Universalitaion of BS 4 by 2017 and BS 6 by 2020
