The image in question, File:Geary-ticonderoga.jpg, even if out of print for decades, is still a copyrighted image (belonging to the book publisher) and thus at best would have to qualify under our non-free content policy. Random images of his work are not enough for its continued usage. If it was a specifically famous image, that may be appropriate but taking someone else's copyrighted work just to show off his style isn't. However, note that Wikipedia still stores the deleted image on its servers and, as an admin, I can restore it if you can fit it within policy. If there are images at the Smithsonian, you can check to see what licenses they are under and whether they would be permissible here. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:55, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
