Got your message - you're getting the hang of it. :-) I'll post here as it gives you a little message and I wasn't sure if you knew how to watch articles and stuff yet. I tried to send you a message through the other forum but it doesn't show you have an account anymore. I've temporarily enabled e-mail if you click on the left menu "e-mail this user". From there I will send you another e-mail address that you can contact me at. I've got my reasons. ;-p It really disturbs me about that group deleting threads and not debating critical questions. Their link use to be listed on Wikipedia as a Forum for FairTax questions but I deleted it as I thought it was biased. I e-mailed Dr. Walaby about the studies as I know she has them. Last word I got was she was reviewing them for publication and to verify everything conformed to the legislation. I e-mailed her a couple days ago but I haven't heard back, however, Tom Wright recently stated 25% - so I wonder if that is the new number. I see what your saying with the "Grassroots" thing. Personally, it doesn't matter to me what it's called - just a name for the movement. This seems to be what everyone is referring to it as... even opponents that have discussed it. I agree that any other large reform push may have had the same movement. Though the flat tax has been around and is the most well known, it doesn't seem to get the same response as the FairTax. I guess any movement like this has to start with some $$ somewhere though. Such a plan doesn't pop out of thin air - someone with the bucks has to do the initial work to make it supportable (is that a word - haha). From there, it is up to the people - I don't think the FairTax would be anywhere without the people supporting it. You could have a dozen Patton Boggs's and it wouldn't go anywhere unless the constituency is making it a issue. I'm very sure the income tax lobbyist far out way Mr. Boggs. So in that regard - it is the people demanding change and support for the FairTax as oppose to Congress / Washington pushing something to us. But anyway - I'm sure we can think of a compromise on language that makes everyone happy. As far as the debates, if we can find a source for it then we can include it - otherwise, it is original research. I know Neal has replied to you online a couple of times - I know this is not a real debate but it's something. I just don't see Linder / Boortz doing a public debate with the likes of us, news reports, ect - regardless of the merits. It has to be something big and worth the effort to them. Hasn't Linder debated Dick Armey? Too much info to remember. :-) I replied to your messages on the FairTax talk page. We can continue discussion on whichever page you prefer.
