Peer Review

[edit]
  • Your expansion on Fossil Fuels, other renewables, and imports sections are well done. You added a lot of percentages that strengthened the article. The title changes were also a good choice.
  • The links to other articles within your additions were good moves. I'm probably going to do the same.
  • Citations are needed throughout the article. I'm sure that you are going to address them but I found them worth noting.
  • As for the Nuclear Power section, it seems that the section (or most of it) can be pushed back to the history section. Based on your other sections in power sources, the focus in these sections seem to be towards percentages and actual usage.
  • One suggestion to help the article overall could be to implement pie graphs. Whenever I did research on renewable energies in different countries, this type of graph always came up and it really conveyed information well. They can help the reader see how much Italy uses one power source relative to others. Although the percentages and numbers are good to have, there must be an easier way to present them to the reader than in a normal sentence. Even though we can't pull figures from reports outside of Wikipedia, if you can't find them in Wikipedia, graphs could be generated using simple websites.
  • For the cost section, perhaps it can be placed in the summary part of the Power Sources section before the Electricity per capita in Italy graph? It seems to align with the first sentence in the prior paragraph.
  • Structural suggestions:

Could move the third paragraph in the intro to a later section but honestly speaking, the intro seems like it's at a fine length. History could be put as the first section. This is just a suggestion based on some electricity sector articles I've found in Wikipedia on other countries.

I hope this helps. Cdpak567 (talk) 03:43, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Draft 2 Memo

[edit]

The main changes I have made since the last draft involve updated statistics- in the Power Sources subsections, a good amount of the numbers there have been updated.

In addition, I have moved the Nuclear Power subsection into the History section- this was some good advice I took from a peer review. I have also removed the Cost section for a few reasons- I still feel that it does not fit into the article, and the sources used for the information were outdated. I will consider adding it back in if I can find some good information on the topic from a reliable source.

Next steps- creating graphs/updating tables. I plan to create multiple pie graphs (or column graphs) showing the breakdown of energy production by source. In addition, I will be updating the table in the Summary section as soon as I find a reliable source (the old source does not appear reliable).

For the peer reviewer- could you look closely at the History section? I would like to update this and get some (better) sources. Gjeffrey18 (talk) 15:31, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
