Bruce Stern page move

Sure thing Golden hound. It's called a page move, just click the "move page" tab at the top of an article. This creates a redirect to the new page from the old one.

More important however is signing your posts. When you leave a post on a talk page leave four tildes (~~~~) after your post. This will leave your user name and date so that other users know who left the post and when. Thanks, happy editing! Scottydude _talk 03:57, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Bruce Stern Collection

Golden hound - I would like to know how you found the information regarding the Bruce Stern vs. Charlton Heston collection? How can you prove that this information is correct? Sources such as Snopes cannot be used as sources. There is no way to prove one way or the other that their information is accurate. You mentioned in a talk post that you cited multiple blogs to get your information. Multiple numbers of blogs does not make something a fact. Bloggers search the internet and post what they find - creating a domino effect. In this case, an incorrect fact.

The auction house you cited is probably the most reputable firearms auctioneer in the world. However, you failed to do your research. Yes, the auction did gross 12.7 million. However, the Bruce Stern collection was NOT the only collection offered.

Also I wanted to know why you put that Mr. Stern was Jewish. What purpose does it serve to put his religion on the page?

Collection

I am sorry I did not respond earlier- I just noticed I had a message. I do not use Wikipedia too often.

I appreciate you sending me the note. It is always hard having a "conversation" with someone you don't know.

Let me start off by saying that I am Bruce Stern's son. That is the reason I started this whole thing in the first place. I know his collection was known all over the world, which is why my goal is to keep all the information out there as truthful as possible.

If you have any questions regarding the collection, you can ask me. It is always better to go to the source. I am also a journalist/producer, so when I see factual errors and improper research, it bothers me.

I respect your ambition to start a page to honor my father's collection. To answer your question, I have no idea who that collection belonged to and I have not done any research into it. I did try to contact Snopes, but I never got any response. I doubt they even care.

The big flaw with Wikipedia is the fact that I cannot really cite my personal knowledge - like you alluded to. But it is 100% true that the "Heston" collection is not his. I grew up with it, lived with it, saw it every day. And it is definitely not the one in those pictures.

My father was indeed a wonderful person. He worked tirelessly for all gun owners in hopes of maintaining the right to bear arms. I cannot count how many hours he spent with state legislators, donating his time as a director of the NRA, spreading the word in every way possible. His intellect, patriotism, determination, and honesty were traits that everyone knew about and admired. If I could do half the things he did I would consider myself lucky.

I did ask about the mention of religion. He was indeed Jewish, but I took issue to the way it was written. It was a statement which could have been misconstrued by any particular reader. Personally, I am in the entertainment industry and definitely see what you write about in terms of the far-left. But my family never flaunts our religion and our religion most definitely does not define us. It is a private matter. We, and my father in particular, never think of people as being Jewish, Muslim, White, Black, Male, Female, Democrat, Republican. We respect everyone as people regardless of where they come from and what they believe in. My father had and acquaintances from all walks of life and from all over the world. That is a tremendous attribute to, one which sadly many people do not possess.

I would be more than happy to set the record straight about my father. I hope I have at least started to do that. His collection was amazing and only one of the pieces of him that I will remember. I know my father worked tirelessly and although he is gone, I hope there are more people like him that will carry on his legacy do defend what is rightfully ours (and it doesn't have to be limited to firearms). Even though I do not know who you are, I assume you are a firearm enthusiast and supporter of the 2nd Amendment.
