Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "GrammarNazi92", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it uses the string "nazi" in a way that might unnerve other editors. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 19:13, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Yes, My Username has the word "Nazi" in it. This is simply a humorous reference and not meant to offend anybody whatsoever! Way back in high school, I got the nickname of Grammar Nazi in my English class for how strictly I peer-edited my classmates' essays. It has been my username ever since. Again, it is not meant to offend anyone and I hope I did no such thing. It is simply a part of my past that I always look upon with fond humor. If I did by chance offend any user, I sincerely apologize and hope you know I mean absolutely no offense by it. The Username policy states "Disruptive or offensive usernames The following types of usernames are not permitted because they are offensive or disruptive: Usernames that are likely to offend other contributors, making harmonious editing difficult or impossible, for example by containing profanities. Usernames that contain or imply personal attacks. Usernames that seem intended to provoke emotional reaction ("trolling"). Usernames that otherwise show a clear intent to disrupt Wikipedia." I am not trolling, using profanity, trying to promote emotional reactions from any users or Wikipedia staff, nor am I showing a clear intent to disrupt this great site or the Wikipedia community! Everything I post, my Username included, is never written with the intent of harming or causing distress to anybody. Thank you for your concern and attention, and I hope everything is now alright! Actually it is not alright. Even though we understand your explanation, it is still an open wound for many people and not a word to be used lightly. Please request a change of name soon. This account will be closed with this name as unacceptable in the next 48 hours. Please ask if you have any questions about the process. Changing username is simple and will not lose your editing history. -- Alexf(talk) 13:08, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, GrammarNazi92, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 19:26, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
