In-action example

[edit]
Wikipedia:Article milestones A previous edit war on this talk page's article was resolved using version 224761338 on 2008-07-10. Editors have agreed that this version is a suitable article milestone version to be used in case future protection is needed.
This is still the wrong version, and administrators can still protect to any other wrong version if they think it will be less of a headache.

Excellent!

[edit]

Thank you, Grey Knight, for putting together this excellent illustration of how the proposed procedure could be used.

For reference for anyone viewing this page, here is the Village Pump section with the proposed procedure. --Jack-A-Roe (talk) 21:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested addition

[edit]

I'm not sure how to add this to the template, so I'm making the suggestion here rather than editing the template directly.

It would be good to include a link within the template, to the talk page section where the milestone revision agreement is discussed.

That way, editors could simply click within the template to directly confirm or discuss that agreement. --Jack-A-Roe (talk) 21:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I added that as the third parameter, defaults to just pointing at the talk page itself. I'll make a more useful help box too. --tiny plastic Grey Knight 08:54, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
