User notice: temporary 3RR block[edit]

Regarding reversions[1] made on December 13 2006 to Midnight Syndicate [edit]

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future.
The duration of the block is 48 hours. William M. Connolley 20:19, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did not make repeated reverts. I removed one item that was earlier disputed and I cited an item that Skinny McGee took out. I did not revert nor did I edit more than twice in a 24 hour period.

Skinny McGee is the one who made repeated reverts as evidenced by:

  • Also per Wrong Version guidelines I request that the correct version be protected due to the defamatory content now in place on the protected page. Could you please post this to Steel359 as he is the one protecting a wrong version and may not be aware of the Wrong version guideline.

I am being blocked from posting evidence on the arbitration page by Dionyseus who is part of this edit war and who has in the past tried to keep me from posting citations and evidence for this article. I have been blocked for no reason.

Dionyseus, you are NOT welcome to post on my talk page. Stay away from my talk page and stop harassing me!GuardianZ 01:52, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There apears to be no 3rr violation indicated by those diffs. A 3rr violation is the same edit bring reverted over and over. ---J.S (T/C) 22:32, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

JS, I think you are wrong. Please allow another admin to look at the edits. They clearly show reverts, not new material and they are repeated by Skinny over and over, with Dionyseus making the last revert to meatpuppet with Skinny. Skinny has violated 3RR no matter how you cut it. And I have NOT. GuardianZ 02:04, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Dionyseus falsly accused me of 3RR to block me from arbitration.GuardianZ 02:06, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you are wasting everyones time with this protest. You have 4 clear reverts (actually more) as listed on the 3RR page William M. Connolley 20:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your help template usage[edit]

What is your question in regards your your usage of the "helpme" template? Navou talk 03:41, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have been blocked and I did not commit 3RR. Please look. I only made 2 edits today on the Midnight Syndicate article, and they were not reverts to old material. I only removed defamatory and disputed content posted by another user. It was not previously discussed and he posted it knowing it was already disputed. Dionyseus has been reverting also and removing my cites. I have not violated 3RR. It states one must make 4 repeated reversions in a 24 hr period. I have not done this. I am also in the midst of presenting evidence in arbitration. The person who falsely reported me for 3RR is Dionyseus and is my opponent in that arbitration case. GuardianZ 03:59, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    • The policy states that an editor must not perform more than three reversions, in whole or in part, on a single Wikipedia page within a 24 hour period. This does not imply that reverting three times or fewer is acceptable. Users may be blocked for edit warring or disruption even if they do not revert more than three times per day.

From what I can see in the policy... I am not saying you did or did not, nor did I check. That is beyond my expertise at the moment. I hope this helps clear up the policy a little. More is available at WP:3RR. It also appears an ArbCom has been started, so I won't comment further. Best of luck to all parties involved. If you find this was not helpful, please replace the template. Navou talk 04:05, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would someone please contact Durova for me and explain I need her help. I have been blocked and I did not violate 3RR, and I was in the midst of posting my arbitration evidence (arbitration opened by Durova) when my opponent User:Dionyseus requested the block. The last time Dionyseus did this to me during a heated discussion that he was not even part of, I was blocked for 8 days. For some reason the block was not removed. GuardianZ 19:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave a message for Durova to take a look at this page. —PurpleRAIN 19:33, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've read the message and viewed the block request. Here's the location where the block request was posted. Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/3RR#User:GuardianZ_reported_by_Dionyseus_.28Result:_48h.29 If you disagree with it then the best thing to do would be to follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Appealing a block and use the unblock template so that a totally uninvolved administrator could review the matter via established procedure. I think your strongest approach would be to acknowledge that you did violate WP:3RR on that date, but the violation was reported rather late and arbitration has now opened regarding the article, so promise not to make the same mistake again and ask that the block be shortened to time served. Then keep your promise. Whether or not the request is granted won't make much difference to your arbitration: the cases tend to move slowly. DurovaCharge! 21:14, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

As stated above in my talk page, I did not edit any more than twice on December 13, and I made NO reverts, on the Midnight Syndicate article. The two edits I made were to remove content that (1.) was not discussed prior to it being placed by another editor Skinny McGee involved in a dispute; and (2.) because the statements have already been proven invalid by earlier documented material are not verifiable, and (3.) replace my citations which Skinny McGee keeps moving or removing in an attempt to falsify my statements and insert his own statements which are invalid and unverifiable, and which violate copyright (they are direct copies of text from a website).

It is my belief that Dionyseus reported a 3RR in an attempt to block me from entering evidence against him in the above arbitration for that article. He has harassed my user page in the past and has also removed a request for reverting to corrected version of same article. He has never edited the article, but has constantly reverted to edits made by Skinny McGee in attempts to help Skinny avoid 3RR. I intend to show he is acting as a meatpuppet of Skinny McGee in the arbitration. Knowing this, Dionyseus has reported me for 3RR and had NOT reported Skinny McGee, who made a lot more revisions that I did within that same time period from December 11 to 12. [4]

I believe I was blocked unduly and request to be unblocked so that I may enter my evidence in the arbitration. GuardianZ 22:32, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see the multiple reverts, but all those are Skinny McGee, not me. I don't understand? Is the report messed up? Guy, you stated weblinks not working in your summary. Please explain.GuardianZ 23:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guardian, your actions since my previous post leave me wondering how much of my advice you read. As the link I provided showed, you were blocked for reverts that occurred on December 11-12. Tu quoque doesn't carry much weight at unblock review. Keep working on your statement and keep your chin up. The world won't end in a day. DurovaCharge! 03:14, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I read your suggestions, but the text above states that I was blocked for edits made on Dec 13, not 11-12. Also, some of the edits made on 11-12 were corrections to my own edits, not reverts of anyone elses writing. I know the world won't end, but I feel like I have been badly treated in this matter. Here I am unable to edit my complaint and you ignore that Dionyseus and Skinny are tag-teaming against me and that Dionyseus is abusing his postion, reporting me and not Skinny when he posted very inflamatory text that was never discussed and that he knew would incite futher arguments. He has been doing this all along. I get the feeling no one has read anything I have written and completely ignores that I have been the only one to properly cite my edits, and that those have been totally valid. Also, I added my email to my preferences, so if you or anyone would like to email me, you can, just so I can prove I am not any other person. GuardianZ 06:03, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It wouldn't make much difference at arbitration if I personally agreed with you about who you are. If you aren't who Dionyseus claims you are, then I suggest you contact an arbitration clerk about providing evidence of your identity for the committee. A Temporary injunction has been enacted in the above titled arbitration case. Dionyseus (talk · contribs), GuardianZ (talk · contribs), and Skinny McGee (talk · contribs) are placed on standard revert parole until the conclusion of this case. They are restricted to one content revert per page per day each, and may be blocked for 24 hours for each violation. Blocks imposed under this injunction should be listed at Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Midnight_Syndicate#Log_of_blocks_and_bans.
