Minor epiphany of a self-taught economist

[edit]

If we go with the Marxian world view that society is really constructed on the foundation of economic relations, the substance of my epiphany is that one buried fallacy in economics is responsible for most of the confusion of economic theorising.

The insight is not original with me. The misassumption was brought to the surface in the 1920/30s by C H Douglas among other thinkers trained in the physical sciences.

The erroneous concept is simply that the second major purpose of economics is assumed unanimously to be the provision of full employment for society.

If I am anywhere near accurate with this, I believe it is a good adjunct to Post Fordism.
