Speedy deletion of William Francis Willesee

[edit]

A tag has been placed on William Francis Willesee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Brianga 06:17, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Willesee (copied from here)

[edit]

A page I created was deleted - it was about William Francis Willesee and I created it to add to a Willesee family page which I created under the category Political Families of Australia. Is their any point continuing to add information to Wikipedia if it just disappears? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hamiltonraja (talkcontribs) 07:46, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

William Francis Willesee was deleted since the article did not contain any reasonable assertion of importance/significance per CSD A7. See this. Also, even if the topic met CSD A7, Wikipedia articles are not Genealogical entries and it may be deleted on that ground. See WP:NOT#DIRECTORY. -- Jreferee t/c 14:18, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Court family

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Court family meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Court family. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Jreferee t/c 14:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pilitical family articles

[edit]

The best way to write these political "family" articles is in the context of the head of the family. De Valera family, Pearse family, and Redmond family are examples of these. However, valid "family" articles also include prose type articles, such as Nehru-Gandhi Family, Martyn, Chigi-Albani family, and Quaranta. List of political families in the United Kingdom appears to meet purpose of lists. The Australian political family efforts were all wrong and, as a result, did not meet Wikipedia article standards. --
