I think the article was well written and mostly, I like the way you left some titles for new sections that could better improve the article. However, I will suggest that you elaborated on the titles which would give a better and a rich understanding of the article. In addition, I will say that gender inequality in Africa is not just about Islam religion. Rather, it evolves more around the African traditions and culture which teach the women to be submissive to their husbands. Basically, most African societies are patriarchal regardless of their religions.Efreitas2 (talk) 20:31, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article has very thorough plot summary which is great because it helps the reader in understanding what the book is about. I noticed that the cultural history section was left blank, this is an important topic that needs to be explored extensively because this book has an impact on cultural history. I think the article is off to a great start. I think the plot summary of the article is good that way it is because its thorough and concise. I'm afraid adding more detail could possibly spoil the book for those who have not read it yet. I know you all plan on including information about the women's suffrage movement during the time the book was written but I would also suggest talking about women's roles and rights in present day Ghana. Perhaps you can compare these two ideas and include them in your article as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Desiamonet (talkcontribs) 02:30, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It would be great if you could expand and create sections for different parts of this article. For example, you can create sections such as background to touch on some historical facts, plot to give a brief account of the story and adding other important concepts from the book in a separate section. Just reading the plot summary makes me want to read the book. It seems like a novel full of emotions and interest details about the struggle of an educated, "modern" woman in a polygamist society. I think that you guys are off to something good so far, and I like that you have established sections that you will be developing later on in your analysis. I hope that you will emphasize on the historical and cultural background in which the book was written. You should also look at the author and perhaps bring out the comparison and differences between her and her protagonist considering that this is a semi-autobiography. Also, I did not see any academic sources in your draft ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spokentruth (talkcontribs) 05:44, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
