A History of the International Date Line
1. How are time zones bounded by longitude? 2. How were they legally mandated? 3. What are the legally mandated time zones? 4. What is UTC and how did it contribute to time zones?
Local time in each time zone is UTC plus the current time zone offset for the location in question. unnecessary in intro or rephrase or blend into prev sent
5. What order do the days go, how did this (intl date line) come about? and rephrase
A corresponding one hour decrease relative to UTC occurs every 15° heading westward from the western boundary of the UTC time zone, up to the International Date Line. this can be blended into 4 and 5.
