User talk:Healthy4life/Zona
Hi!
I would really appreciate input on how I can improve the article on my user page and make it acceptable for Wikipedia.
Thanks!

Advertise it elsewhere.
[edit]You 'user page' is an unashamed advertisement for a commercial product. You should advertise it somewhere more appropriate.Martin Hogbin (talk) 12:26, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Look for reliable sources
[edit]Articles need to provide verifiable claims to notability for their subject. Also, reliable sources are needed in order to write a neutral article without any original research. The only thing I found at Google News was this. Another, although minor point is formatting. Ideally, format your sources using our {{cite}} templates. Generally, a good idea may be to start in another sandbox subpage from scratch, and build an article step by step, strictly adhering to what can be verified with reliable sources. Also, take care to cite sources in a truthful way (see also WP:ASF). Everyme 03:12, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Looks like an advert...sourcing appears inflated
[edit]- This reads like an advert for Zona Plus.
- The only coverage for the product appears to be a press release.
- Regarding the "ten articles published in peer-reviewed journals all of which support the use of the device for reduction of blood pressure in over 90% of users"...you won't find "Zona Plus" in a PubMed search (I know, I tried). References 7 & 8 appear to be meeting abstracts, which nobody should ever cite for scientific support. The Eur J Appl Physiol publication apparently used a different company's "programmed handgrip dynamometer" (IBX H-101, MD Systems, Inc., Westerville, OH). I don't feel like going through the rest, but this just smells fishy. — Scientizzle 19:23, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Total Overhaul!
[edit]Thank you for all of your constructive criticism! It truly is appreciated. I went through the article, cut stuff out, added clarifications, "wikified" it, tried to improve the sources and to remove the feeling that it was an advertisement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resperate has been my inspiration. I have many more links to outside sources available, but am concerned that adding them will contribute to the feeling that the article is an advertisement since they are from places like CBS and not a medical related source. Please let me know what else I can do! Healthy4life (talk) 19:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
P.S. MD Systems sold the original patent on the device to CardioGrip Corp.
